Comment on Chardonnay Styles by stumblingsommelier http://wineguysradio.com/2012/07/12/chardonnay-styles/#comment-1513 Fri, 13 Jul 2012 06:56:08 +0000 http://wineguysradio.com/?p=4533#comment-1513 Great conversation on Chardonnay. Thought it a little ironic that I taught a consumer class on Chardonnay today. Also thought it a little interesting that I sensed a jab or two , maybe a little disdain for the California oak bomb Chardonnay. I work in retail and would attest that despite the big push from winemakers and this big “Chardonnay purist” revolution, the largest market of hardcore Chardonnay consumers is really looking for the big hedonistic oak bomb. Personally, I think they all have there place. I wouldn’t pair a rich buttery Chard with oysters nor Chablis with cedar plank salmon…

Comment on Do the Natural Wrap… by stumblingsommelier http://wineguysradio.com/2012/06/23/do-the-natural-wrap/#comment-1486 Sat, 07 Jul 2012 08:19:01 +0000 http://wineguysradio.com/?p=4378#comment-1486 I work in retail and do hear this A LOT. It really is a tippy toe conversation because people do believe sulfites are causing their headache. Well let me tell you, I too am allergic to sulfite. This only seems to occur when I consume large quantities of wine. Go fiugure, does beer contain sulfites? If so I am allergic to beer too. Your an inspiration, please check out my blog.

Arya Campbell, co-owner with her dad Patrick of Tierra Divina (formerly known as Laurel Glen, REDS, ZaZin, Terra Rosa Malbec, Tierra Divina Malbec) is in Colorado on a promotional tour and would like to hook up with local press to make clear the change from the Sonoma Mtn Estate that Patrick sold last year to Bettina Sichel to a focus on their California old vine wines and Argentina where Patrick has been for decades. She is in the mountains through the weekend but will be in the front range Monday-Thursday. Any chance you can meet with her?

Her contact information is below, please copy me or I’ll be happy to be the go-between.

Regards,

I’m a fan of the Wineguys and have heard your show many times. My girlfriend and I are wine enthusiasts who especially enjoy Virginia wines, some of which are receiving international acclaim. One of the reasons for starting my blog is so I can photograph and comment on the many Virginia wineries that we visit throughout the year. It’s a way for me to combine my passions for photography, writing and wine, with a focus on Virginia. More to come soon.
