Home Made Blue Cheese Dressing
½ lb of good blue cheese
10 to 12 turns of fresh ground pepper
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
Tbl garlic salt
2 Tbl red, white or balsamic vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ to 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
Let cheese sit out and come to room temperature to soften. Mash with fork. Add
pepper, sour cream, mayonnaise and mix. Add remaining ingredients and mix.
Adjust ingredients if dressing is too thick and to suit your taste.
can be modified to lower the fat and calorie content. Substitute sour cream
with plain yogurt and use a low fat mayonnaise. However, if you are going to
the trouble of making home made blue cheese dressing our feeling is “why not
use the good stuff!”
