Gary’s Peach Bread
A good friend of WGTV provided this recipe which is perfect for the harvest season. Enjoy it at breakfast or as a dessert with some dessert wine. Perfect!
Preheat oven to 350
Ingredients
*Three eggs
*1 cup vegetable oil
*Two cups white sugar
*1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine, then add
*3 cups all-purpose flour
*1 teaspoon baking soda
*1 teaspoon baking powder
*1 teaspoon salt
*3 teaspoons cinnamon
*2 cups peaches (fresh are best but you can use canned, drained) Nuts are optional – ½ cup
Now oil and flour two loaf pans. Divide batter between pans and bake for 45-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Notes:
If you like butter on your bread cut back on the salt. Spices also can be adjusted to your liking. Use half the cinnamon and instead add about ½ or 1 teaspoon of allspice – nutmeg is also nice.
The bread is very moist, almost like cake. It would be good with cream cheese or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
