Fogo de Chao & Italo Jofre

Wineguys Radio January 21 2012

We have Alberto and Dan in Studio from Fogo de Chao ( visit www.FogodeChao.com ). And calling direct from Chile is Italo Jofre, aka Ambassador for the Famour Concha Y Toro Winery… these guys are making some noise again in the wine world in a big big way. We are looking forward to this show… We cannot wait !!!

Fogo de Chao: Colorado is known for its rich cowboy heritage along with its love for cuisine cooked on the open range. The gauchos from Fogo bring their tradition for this style of cooking to the heart of the Lower Downtown Historic District known as LoDo.

Italo Jofre: Italo Jofre is ideally suited to his new role as roving Wine Ambassador for Chile’s prestigious Concha y Toro estates. Italo brings with him over a decade’s worth of winemaking experience that ranges from California to Chile. In his most recent capacity Italo proved himself an effective and engaging spokesperson for Viñedos Emiliana. There he had the opportunity to work alongside some of South America’s most acclaimed winemakers, notably the famed consulting enologist, Alvaro Espinoza.  More on Italo at Concha Y Toro

Chile and Argentina…

Wineguys TV:  Keith had the opportunity to sit down with the Wine Ambassador of Concha Y Toro, Italo Jofre. They chat about two wines in part 2… Don Melchor is the flagship wine of Concha y Toro, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee that was started in 1987, making it Chile’s senior icon. Trivento Bodegas y Viñedos was founded in the late 90’s by the Chilean (and world) giant Concha y Toro. Mendoza wines were starting to boom in Europe, US and Asia, so it was not at all a bad move to invest in Argentina and make quality wine of their own.
